Stricter Fines on Illegal Dumping

Stricter Fines on Illegal Dumping

This would include the dumping on our sidewalks,

by residents, here at Meridian Woods

If fines are applied then a Special Assessment may have to be imposed and/or increase in HOA monthly dues

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/san-jose-officials-push-for-stricter-fines-on-illegal-dumping/2522492

A pair of San Jose officials are teaming up to push for a stricter crackdown on illegal dumping across the city. San Jose City Councilman Sergio Jimenez and Planning Commissioner Rolando Bonilla have proposed an increase and restructuring in the city's fines for illegal dumping that would assess a

$10,000 citation for any and all offenses.

Current city law applies a tiered system for fines, starting with $2,500 for a first offense and $10,000 for a third offense. The new proposal eliminates the tiers.

Hot Water Boiler for buildings 320, 340, 360, and 380

updates :

3/5 4:50 p.m.
- Installation will be ongoing tomorrow whole day. The water will be shut off between 10:00 a. m. to noon.
- Vendor are expecting to finish the work by evening and resume hot water supply from 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.

3/5 13:20 p.m.
- The board finalized the proposal in urgent meeting and signed the contract with new supplier for water heater solution, which will provide four units backing up each other and provide more redundant hot water capacity.

- Installer came onsite to review the environment and staging the installation

3/4 10:50 a.m.
- Called multiple plumbers but non of them has inventory on hand, they can get the inventory supply on Monday.

- Another plumbing company checked the existed boiler but could not repair it successfully.

- Current boilers capacity is 400 btu, but it's not enough given our usage increase, and the overheating will happen again. To fix the issue all at once for long term, we need to install boilers with bigger capacity

- New boilers will be available on Monday and could be installed once the board/management company approve the quote.

3/3  10:10 p.m.
New pipe spoken to all their suppliers and have confirmed they have nothing larger than 400 but in stock and those are in Stockton. It's more likely NPI won't be able to locate the larger boilers we need to meet demand until Monday.

The board is approaching to other plumber companies and seek second opinion if we can repair the existed boiler on Sunday.

3/3  12:20 p.m.

So at this point one boiler has at least a blown tube bundle. We have changed every part on the other boiler and it still will not fire. I believe it may have been damaged when the first boiler over heated.

New Pipe is trying to source two new boilers today. It might be very challenging to do over the weekend.

3/2
On another note the hot water won't be on tonight. They had one boiler running and it blew out a hot water pipe hat had melted components they won't be able to get til tomorrow. And it gives time for the room to air out and dry as when pipe busted water went bursting all overshot steaming water ....

Meridian Woods HOA

New Pipes has parts on order, but they are not scheduled to arrive until March 9.

The hot water boiler will be running at
50% capacity until the parts arrive.

Please try to avoid peak hours for hot water
or you may get less hot water than normal.
